about

"Enter The Oceanarium" by Cole Bee Wilson

The Oceanarium is open!
Oh please do come in!
You can breath underwater
The whole time you swim!

Jump in and after
The bubbles subside
Behold all the marvelous
Wonders inside!

Dolphins delight
With sing song sonar
In the glitter beam starlight
Through green glowing clouds

Of phosphorescent plankton
Aurora borealis
Swimming and wild
Alive in the sea!

Mermaidens promising
Kisses to divers
Deeply
Deeply
Deeply
In love

A blue whale bellows
Great contra bass moans
Lambasting in leagues
From the great depths unknown

Otters contented
Rubbing soft furry bellies
Holding hands as they sleep
Floating over the jellies

Who’s alien shapes
Are not unlike angels
The hypnotic hues of
Their long rainbow tangles

Sea turtles born in 1615
Secret smiles suggestive
Of the histories they’ve seen

Castanet clams and
Anglers entranced
Even the hermit crabs
Come out to dance

On the decks of the ships
Sunk so long ago
Eels in their homes
Of Olde Spanish gold

Sleek sneaky sharks
Of all shapes and sizes
Who can’t help but grin
Their three layered smiles

For the currents are filled
With such beautiful sounds
Fish of every color
All swirling around

There’s a tropical reef
That’s a disco it seems
Is the source of this music
Oh who could it be?

Holy Beluga!
What a surprise!
By my barnacled beard!
I’ve star fish in my eyes!

The Octopi clap!
The squid squirt with joy!
Our Aquatic Curator!
It’s Corduroi!
